TELEVISION

Television is a compound word. It comes from the Latin word tele and vision. Tele means distance and vision means to see. So the word television means seeing from distance. It is one of the wonder of the modern science. Paul Nepkow a German scientist at first thought of sending image to a distant place. Later a British scientist John Baird at first invented television in 1925. After that the system has been improved by many other scientists. Now-a-days television is a powerful mass media. It enables us to see and hear something which is happening hundreds of mile away. It has a significant role in the following sectors. Television is a source of recreation. After days hard work we sit before a television set to enjoy songs and music. We enjoy drama, cinema, dance and many important things. Television has a great education value. We hear and enjoy debates, lecture and various important topics. Now-a-days people not need to go stadium to enjoy a game like football, cricket, tennis etc. How ever the importance of TV needs no telling. All the members of a family can watch it with pleasure in their house on the whole. The TV is an effective means of amusement an instruction. We can not think of modern life without it.
